FAQs

NACOSS Gold is the highest standard attainable accreditation in the security industry. Technica Systems has received this award for Intruder Alarms, Access Control and also CCTV.

The URN is your Unique Reference Number. This number is issued by the Police and is a mandatory requirement for a monitored system that needs the Police to attend your property.

Yes it should. Some insurance companies will give up to 20 percent off your insurance if you have an accredited security system fitted as they know you are less likely to be burgled and thereby less likely to make a claim.

A monitored alarm connects to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) which is a remote central station manned 24 hours a day for 365 days a year, via a telephone line or GSM. The monitored alarm sends signals to the ARC when the alarm is set or unset and if it detects intrusion, a personal attack button is manually activated or if there is a fault with the system such as mains failure or phone line fault, the ARC verifies the alarm signals and then takes the appropriate course of action i.e. alerting keyholders or the Police.

If the telephone line is cut it will prevent your alarm system from communicating with the ARC and in that case the ARC will not be able to monitor the premises. The solution is to utilize dual path signalling such as RedCare GSM, Dualcom or WebWay to continue your link to the ARC.

No. We can install pet friendly motion detectors and these will give as much protection as a standard movement detector. Pet friendly detectors allow your pet to move about freely but will still detect an intruder.

The alarm system is fitted with batteries that will keep the system working for up to 72 hours during the power cut. The keypad will beep intermittently and the mains light on the keypad will flash to indicate a fault. If the system is monitored a signal will be sent to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) to notify them of a mains failure and you or your keyholders will be contacted. You cannot alter the status of your system during this period. Once the power cut is resolved you may need a reset for the alarm system.
